Well, it makes me wonder. Why are they having a picnic? *Where* are they having this picnic? John and Rondey seem sort of...subdued. What are they thinking about? Talking about? Are they together as a couple or are they just friends? Are those really apples, because if everyone's on a planet other than Earth, then they're really not apples at all, unless someone managed to plant and grow a tree to maturity. I could almost imagine the four of them lost somewhere or in exile. (Fiction muse raises hand. "May I speak?") (I slap her hand away. "I'm too busy, now!") Draw more... please?

Yes, I was extremely intrigued by the drawing and it may become the inspiration for a story that is trying to take form right now in my mind. (Perhaps a few sessions on the treadmill will help clarify things. Usually works. Walk, walk, walk. Think, think, think.)

Beautiful! You've captured them all gorgeously. I absolutely love Teyla in particular -- she is so very Teyla, every line and curve of her posture just spot on. And I love the grass and trees, how the colors all work together.

I wrote to you when you first posted this, saying how much I liked the picture. So I decided to write a story with the picture in mind...and it's up to 130 pages, now (pre-edited, praise God.) See what you made me do!

The story isn't really about the picture or anything. In fact, in the scene that your work specifically evoked, John isn't there except in spirit (which he sort of is in the picture, since he's kind of behind Rodney and etc., etc.)

Anyway, just thought I'd share.
