Cowboy!Sheppard was inspired by pentapus's suggestion and trinityofone's A Rush and a Push and the Land Is Ours. I ended up going off in a slightly different direction, but trinityofone's story is fantastic and I highly recommend it if you haven't already read it.

Oh, man. Lonesome cowboy John, staring at his campfire with Stoic Manly Pain. I love this. Do not cry (in a manly way, of course), Lonesome Cowboy John-- I'm sure you'll find someone soon to share your bedroll and teach you how to cook something other than beans.


And. It is entirely possible that I'm making shit up, but the way the flames are licking upwards in seperate tongues and the logs are arranged around it, the overall shape makes me think of Atlantis. I have no idea if that was intentional, but it's really, really cool.
