You can find the story here! And here's a black and white copy.

(Oh, there's a ladybug on the keyboard! What a cutie!)

zomg.

This is the best "why am I still awake at 3:30 am" random checking of my flist ever.

Seriously. I love the muted colors of the background; colors you would usually think of as bright and cheerful dulled and greyed into malice. Love love love (and sincerely jealous of) your crisp, expressive line as usual.

I'm a horrible rememberer of fanfiction I have read before and even really liked but this images reminds me of how freaked out I was by that story when she first posted it.

is that an aye-aye?

Oh, the colors are wonderful. Dark and garish, just like a nightmare carnival should be! Also, that's a sexy kiss there, with that t-shirt being pushed up and just that hint of back...closely followed by a lemur.

That's amazing. It's perfect for the story and echoes back to Bradbury beautifully. I love the colours and the contrasts.

I love this to pieces. The background kiss (omg lifting up his shirt!) is hot. The ferris wheel, string of lights, and rollercoaster seem dark and empty and sinister. And words can't sufficiently express how much I love the flying books and pencil stubs (and glasses!john!). As usual, you awe me with your talent.

God, that kiss! I can't take my eyes off it. You combined two of my most powerful kinks - the hands on the face and the lifting of the shirt to get at skin. Wow. *shiver* Fantastic!

Oh, HEART.

This is one of my favorite fics ever... I love how dense and dark this piece is! Excellent color choices.

Ooh, this is SO lovely!

[identity profile] ileliberte.livejournal.com 2006-09-26 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh Cool! I love the colors and the way everything's so crowded in the background, and is that a marmot? Also, hadn't read the story before, so got a new story out if this too :)

Oh, what glorious art work! I love the swirliness of it.

OH! You would not believe, I have had the most awful day, and this...this just makes it so much better. THANK YOU. This is just beautiful and dreamy—so, so heavy with dreams—and that kiss is one of the hottest things I've ever seen. I'd totally hang it on my wall next to your cowboy!John, but I think that might finally raise a comment here at work.

I may do it anyway.

This is awesome! It reminds me of some of the art in the the Sandman gn's.

Yays! I missed your art. The colours really fit with wicked, but I have not yet read the story, so I can only guess the significance, but yay!

That is extremely cool. I love the whole composition of it, and the colours.

I certainly agree with all the love that's been put forth about this work, but I'd like to add how much I adore the sheer overwhelming-ness of this. The layers of rides gives this jumbled foreboding feeling ... like you're standing on the midway and the carnival is set up like, I don't know, Wal-Mart or something. You turn around and bam! there's the Ferris wheel. Turn the corner and bang! you run into (literally) the roller coaster. The fact that there's all this stuff without the presence of people, just gives it more of an eerie, otherworldly atmosphere.
...
and, yes, the color choices are awesome.

Oh God... the exposed back. *dies*

This is amazing.

[identity profile] chalcopyrite.livejournal.com 2006-09-28 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, this is awesome. The sinister carnival, and the flying books -- and the kiss. I'm kind of focusing on the kiss, but it's worth focusing on, say I. Many people have said this already, but the colours are perfect.

[identity profile] miss-pryss.livejournal.com 2006-10-01 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
This is so extraordinary, and such a perfect, evocative visual representation of the mood of that story. It adds its own dimensions, too. You're always so spot-on!
